Photographs

- What kind of cameras do you use?

We use the same Canon and Nikon cameras that professional sports photographers and photojournalists use. These very expensive cameras, used by only the best wedding photographers, allow the advanced photographer to capture every movement and nuance of light as it passes so quickly through time.

- Do you carry back up equipment?

Yes. we always carry back up equipment, and shoot onto two cards at once in many cases. It is virtually impossible for us to lose your photographs due to a camera or card malfunction.

- What computer do you edit with?

Eric does all of your editing using a MAC Pro.

- How many photographs will you take?

We will capture several thousand images on your wedding day, you can expect to receive the final edit of 500-1200 edited images on your printable DVD.

- Do I need to provide you a shot list? Can we give you input on the shots we want?

We built our business asking couples “What do you want?”, and this is the principle that we will always put first. It is important to keep in mind that the reason you are attracted to our photographs is because we capture “moments”. We have a recommended shot list that will allow us to capture the formal pictures needed while keeping the emphasis on capturing the moments.

- How quickly will we see our proofs after the wedding?

Online proofs are generally posted online within two to three weeks.

- Do you post our pictures online for purchase?

Yes, the images will be on a password protected site. Your prints may be ordered by you or your guests and shipped directly to the purchaser’s home.

- Can other people take photos while you are taking photos?

Absolutely! However we ask that others not photograph our formal group shots so that we can keep everyone’s attention. The last thing you want is to get your pictures back with everyone looking at another camera.

- Do we get a copy of the digital negatives of the retouched final edit?

Yes, digital negatives with rights to reproduce for personal use are included in all of our packages.

Engagement Pictures

- Can you photograph our engagement, bridal portrait, or final dress fitting?

Absolutely. You may add an engagement, bridal session, or final dress fitting to any wedding package.

Where should we go for engagement pictures?

We can shoot it anywhere you like around Atlanta for $250 or we can do the shoot at our waterfall in Dahlonega for $100. If you choose to use our studio on the square in Dahlonega during studio hours there is no charge.

-What is a bridal session?

A bridal session is a time to take pictures of you on a day different than your wedding day.  Its a Southern tradition that started when parents wanted their daughter’s wedding announcement to run in the paper the Sunday after their Saturday wedding.  However, it has grown into session that allows the bride to have more fashion-oriented images taken at a location different from where she is getting married and without the stress and time constraints of the wedding day.

When should we do our engagement pictures or bridal sitting?

Now. If you want prints back before your wedding day, schedule the sitting about 8 weeks beforehand.

Wedding Albums

- Do you offer coffee table albums?

We offer only the highest quality albums that come with a lifetime guarantee in both traditional and coffee-table styles.

- Do we have to decide what type of album we want before the wedding?

No. You may purchase an album a la carte after your wedding.  The advantage to including an album now is to lock in this year’s price.  Our advice is this: If dad is paying for your wedding, go ahead and include the album now because he wants to write one check and be done with wedding expenses afterward.  If you are paying for the wedding yourselves, its ok to take time to recover from wedding expenses and get an album for your one year anniversary!

- Do I decide which images go in the album or do you?

You may be involved as much are as little as you like in the design process.  Adrienne, who watched the events unfold at your wedding, designs our albums.  Some brides provide a detailed list; some brides say, “You can’t pick an image I won’t love, you decide which images go in the album”.  Either way, you will approve the design before it is printed and bound.

- What size albums do you offer?

The options for album sizes are absolutely endless.  We will be happy to show you several sample albums we have and listen to any ideas you have.

- How long does it take to get my album?

There are several work flows involved.  After having a selection of images to go in the album, a custom design takes about two weeks.  The amount of time it takes you to approve or submit changes for the album is dependent on you.  Once the album design is approved, generally the album is received in about 6 weeks.  If your album has metallic paper, turnaround may be 8 weeks.

Pricing and payment

- How far in advance do we need to book?

Most clients book their photographer as soon as they have a date and a venue chosen. Popular dates such as in May and October tend to book as early as a year-and-a-half out.

- Is a retainer required to book your services?

A non-refundable 25% retainer and contract is required to secure your wedding date.  Another 25% is due three months prior to your wedding and final payment is due two weeks prior the wedding.

- Do you take credit cards?

Yes. We take all major credit cards including AMEX. There is a convenience fee of 3%, wich is what we are charged by the credit card companies to accept your card.

- Do you charge a travel fee if the wedding and reception are in more than one location?

There are no travel fees as long as the locations are within metro Atlanta or North Georgia area. However if the price of gas goes above 4$ we will be forced to start charging at least whatever it cost us in gas to travel to your wedding.

- When do you start taking pictures the day of the wedding?

Every wedding package includes up to 8 hours of photographic coverage with formal pictures starting about two hours prior to the ceremony.  Adrienne is usually with you and the bridesmaids getting ready just before formals begin. If you need additional time let me know, and I’ll try to work with your wedding day schedule.

One of the advantages of shooting your engagement sitting is to find out what you like.  Afterward, you can tell me, “The black and whites were my favorite!”, I will be sure to include more with your final edit of wedding images.  However, you can also change color images online to black and white.  Black and white cannot go back to color.
